With only a little over a week before the project was to debut on TV for the 2020 BET Music Awards, Cinema Giants Producer Lisa Arianna, called upon UltimateGraveyard for the open desert and apocalyptic landscape for the music video. They needed room to build a 40 foot wide and 20 foot high scaffolding for the dancers. They also needed a long dirt road

In addition to the amazing crane shots below the train tracks, the production used several areas of the property, including a long dirt road next to the train tracks, the cement underpass and the dry lake bed area for the Savage (Remix) stage performance.

One of the many highlights from this production was the amazing 27 foot, stainless steel, street legal, Burning Man art car aptly named “Valerian Steel”. The car was designed by Henry Chang and his team at Playaworks in Las Vegas, who spent more than 2,000 hours building this work of art.

With our post-apocalyptic cars, props and endless desert landscape, AJR Films Production Manager Michael Busalacchi called UltimateGraveyard “a perfect fit” for The Game’s “Mad Max” style music video.

Once the location was scouted and booked, we assisted the production team in securing the production trailers, catering, bathrooms for the talent/crew of 40 and the free permit from Kern County Film Commission.

In addition to the amazing aerial drone shots, the production used many areas of the property, including the long dirt road leading to the mountains, dry lake bed area for the battle and driving scenes, as well as the plane shell as it’s post-apocalyptic bunker.

When BMW was looking for a place to shoot their new “top secret” Z4 Concept car, they needed a private desert location (away from the prying eyes of car photographers trying to get the first images), vast open land, a dry lake bed look and long dirt roads. UltimateGraveyard was a perfect fit with over 300 acres of private desert landscape, located over a mile off the nearest highway.

Once the location was locked down, we assisted the Production’s Executive Producer to secure local hotel accommodations, the Production trailers for the crew of 30, and the free permit from Kern County.

The production utilized a variety of locations on the property, including the dry lake bed area, cement tunnel under the railroad tracks, the plane shell and the dirt roads with the Joshua trees and mountain views as the backdrop.

One of our favorite international clients recently flew to LA to create a 50th anniversary campaign for Duke India‘s fashion brand. SlickforceStudio produced the “California Dreamin” campaign, which was shot over two days.

Day One took place at our favorite playground in the Mojave desert, Ultimate Graveyard, where the models posed on vintage vehicles, built burning campfires, climbed inside plane shells, and danced along the railroad tracks.

We received a call from frequent client RocketJump, who was collaborating with Loot Crate, for their latest Crate theme release. For this production, they needed a big desert location and wanted to know if they could blow up a car on our property. We’ve had other shoots with large-scale fire effects before (check out The Dance’s “Cheers” video), so we gave the go ahead and helped them secure the proper permits, Fire Safety Officer and Water truck.

With help from accomplished Special Effects Coordinator Tom Ceglia and his team, the vehicle explosion went off perfectly and the clients were thrilled.
